Individual and contextual determinants of innovation performance: A micro-foundations perspective

Concurrent increase in the degree of competition and access to information makes it both a challenge necessity for firms develop their ability sense, seize exploit knowledge-based advantages. Since absorptive capacity reflects an organization's extract innovative ideas from its environment, plays critical role fostering intrapreneurship performance within existing firms. In this paper, we adopt micro-foundations perspective study how goal orientations employees affect individual-level capacity, which would turn shape collective performance. Furthermore, examine conditions under individuals' capacities can efficiently aggregate leads increased innovation We tested our theoretical model using original dataset collected 648 knowledge workers 126 functional areas. Our analysis show that learning prove orientation are important predictors lead positive outcomes especially when activities highly coordinated.
